Alaina Suddeth was born in Rossville, Georgia, on the 8th of November, 1994. She was married to Kristy Suddeth and J. J. Suddeth. The father of Alaina is a Chattanooga technician. Her first singing experience began when she was three. After a vacation lasting a whole year, she sang in the choir for children. The singer sang at church restaurant, at holidays with family and any other gathering within 30 miles of her home. Alaina was a singer at the age 8 was the winner of her first prize in the Southern Stars Pageant Talent Competition. The following year, Alaina was selected to perform on the festival's Riverbend Kids Talent Stage. This festival permitted the contest on its main stage when she was 12 because she been performing there each year. When she was ten years old she traveled across the country to Orlando, Florida for the American Model and Talent Competition. She defeated 1500 competitors to claim the title. Alaina was a part of the Georgia Country Gospel Music Association Children's Choir. Alaina was 12 at the time she took her first and many subsequent trips to Nashville. The singer performed at Tootsie's and at other local bars along Broadway. Alaina took home the WinniSTAR contest for youth talent in 2009 at Lake Winnepesaukah. She also wrote songs like Leaving and Set Me Free. Alaina's cousin Holly Witherow was diagnosed with brain cancer, which inspired her to start singing. Prior to Idol, Alaina worked at CiC's Pizza. She was a student at Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School located in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, in which she played cheerleading.
